John Schulian was a nationally syndicated sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times before he jumped to Hollywood to write for such iconic TV series as Miami Vice and Wiseguy and co-create the international hit Xena: Warrior Princess. He has written for GQ and Sports Illustrated and is the author of three collections of his journalism and the novel A Better Goodbye. He edited the forthcoming anthology The Great American Sports Page and in 2016 received the PEN/ESPN Lifetime Achievement Award for Literary Sports Writing.
