A family faced eviction from their home because a family member who didn’t live with them committed a crime. This is the law of the land in some American towns.
Sam Gedge is a senior attorney at the Institute for Justice in Arlington, Va. He litigates cases to promote political speech, property rights and economic liberty. Previously, he was an attorney at Wiley Rein LLP, in Washington, D.C., where he focused on litigation and election law. He was also a law clerk at the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his law degree with honors from Harvard Law School in 2010.
