Avengers: Infinity War showed no sign of slowing down in its third weekend, clinching a near-record $200 million opening in China and dominating North American theaters for the Mother’s Day holiday. The superhero mashup brought in $62 million in domestic theaters, earning a total global haul of $1.606 billion. That makes it the top-grossing superhero film of all time globally. New Line’s Life of the Party, a comedy starring Melissa McCarthy as a divorced mother, fell short of its mark, coming in second place in theaters with $18.5 million. Will Packer’s thriller Breaking In, another new release targeting moms for the holiday weekend, came in third with $16.5 million. The film stars Gabrielle Union as a woman fighting to protect her children during a home invasion.
