A former senior adviser to President Joe Biden, Anita Dunn, expressed her public disapproval for the way in which the president chose to pardon his son Hunter Biden during a New York Times event on Wednesday. “I absolutely think that Hunter deserves a pardon here but I disagree on the timing, the argument and sort of the rationale,” Dunn, who left the White House in July, told moderator Maggie Haberman, while adding that she had not been “party to the conversations” about such a move. Biden was criticized for the decision earlier this month after repeatedly insisting he would not pardon Hunter. The president claimed it was necessary due to President-elect Donald Trump and his allies' continued threats. While Dunn said she thought Hunter should be pardoned and that he has “paid a certain price,” she lashed Biden for the way it was handled. “I will say I absolutely agree with the president’s decision here. I do not agree with the way it was done. I don’t agree with the timing and I don’t agree, frankly, with the attack on our judicial system,” she said.
