The Boston Globe printed 15 pages of death notices in its Sunday edition as the state of Massachusetts grapples with a novel coronavirus death count that has now reached 1,560. Not all the deaths were COVID-19-related, but the increase (from six pages on Sunday, April 21 of 2019) is a stark reminder of the human toll of the pandemic. Massachusetts remains a hot spot in the U.S., with more than 36,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
