The parents of British boy Alfie Evans lost an appeal on Tuesday to fly their terminally ill son to Vatican City for treatment. A judge said it was “the final chapter in the case of this extraordinary boy,” who is 23 months old and remains in a hospital in England. The boy, who has spent the past 16 months in intensive care, was taken off of life support and the judge said it would be against his best interests to fly him to Rome. He has a degenerative brain condition that has stumped doctors for months.
