Well, that was bound to happen eventually. GOP candidate Mitt Romney and President Obama went back on the attack Thursday after a few days of relative decency in light of Hurricane Sandy. Romney attacked Obama on defense, arguing again that if the president is reelected it will result in “a smaller Air Force and an older Air Force.” And then, of course, there’s the Navy. “I don’t believe the Navy is like bayonets and horses, even though I know we use bayonets and they save a lot of lives,” Romney told a Virginia crowd. “Like bayonets, a modern Navy also will save lives because a strong American military, so strong no one would think of testing it.” Meanwhile, Obama attempted to take back his change slogan, telling a crowd in Wisconsin “I know what change looks like because I’ve fought for it.”
