Cannibal Cop Found Guilty

The cannibal cop is cooked. On Tuesday a unanimous jury found Gilberto Valle, the NYPD officer infamously known as the "cannibal cop," guilty on all charges of plotting to kidnap, kill, and eat women—beginning with his wife. The shocking decision came after sixteen hours of deliberation, lasting four days. Prosecutors described Valle's scheme to capture, torture, kill, and then eat women, "heinous." The six-year NYPD veteran was indicted by a grand jury in November after the FBI uncovered emails in which he discussed the plans with a coconspirator. The 28-year-old—who has remained in solitary confinement throughout the case—cried as his defense team attempted to convince the jury that his grotesque plans were fictional. He may face life in prison.
