At least 28 people died and more are missing after a ferry sank on a river in eastern Bangladesh Thursday. With about 100 people on board, the ship was overcrowded, a common occurrence. Many passengers were reportedly asleep when the ship quickly sank. Some passengers were able to swim to shore, but the number of people missing is still not known.
