If you have a Yahoo account, you might want to consider shutting it down and never using that password again. Some 435,000 usernames and passwords were leaked online by a hacking group late last night. A security firm believes hackers picked up the passwords from Yahoo Voices, the company’s social network and blogging platform. The firm added that they were “completely unencrypted” in plain text and therefore accessible to anyone. CNet reported that the hackers hoped their breach would be a “wake-up call” to those responsible for safely storing customer information. Yahoo has not yet responded to requests for comment.
