The outrage is also spreading. The House of Representatives said Friday it will be including health regulators in its investigation into the company responsible for an outbreak of fungal meningitis that has killed 14 and sickened 184 nationwide. The Massachusetts pharmacy board is being asked to turn over all records and reports regarding the New England Compounding Center, where tainted steroids have been traced to. Apparently, the FDA was aware of possible health risks within the company’s production methods back in 2006, when the pharmacy was accused of infecting a man with another form of meningitis in a 2004 lawsuit.
