Hobby Lobby is confirming a Daily Beast report that the company’s owners are under federal investigation over the illicit importation of biblical antiquities from Iraq. The Green family, who own the craft-supplies retail chain, purchased the artifacts for the Museum of the Bible, a new museum they are funding in Washington, D.C. “Hobby Lobby is cooperating with the investigation related to certain biblical artifacts,” the company said in a statement. “The Museum of the Bible is a separate not-for-profit entity made possible, in part, by the generous charitable contributions of the Green family.”
