During Wednesday night’s New York Mets game, team mascot Mr. Met flipped off a fan as he walked through a tunnel off the field. The Mets were losing to the visiting Milwaukee Brewers when the incident occurred. The organization released a statement: “We apologize for the inappropriate action of this employee. We do not condone this type of behavior. We are dealing with this matter internally.” A Mets official told the Associated Press multiple people wear the costume during the season and that the particular employee in the Mr. Met outfit last night will not suit up again.
