Eight children have been stabbed to death on their first day of elementary school in China. CNN reports that a 40-year-old man with the last name Yu attacked the students as they arrived at their new school at 8 a.m. local time Monday in Hubei province’s Enshi City. Two other kids were injured. Police took the man into custody, but so far have not suggested a motive for the attack. Earlier this year, 20 schoolchildren were injured when a man attacked them with a hammer in Beijing.
