In 1955, as James Dean walked through Time Square, Dennis Stock clicked away with his camera. The resulting series of photographs became famous not only because James Deen died later that year, but because of the intimate insight they provided into his life. That was the style of Dennis Stock. Throughout his time as a member of the historic Magnum Photos cooperative, Stock took portraits of various actors, jazz singers, hippies and more. Each image taken by Stock seduced the observer with it's subtle, poetic language, attempting to have the audience participate. The series of photos taken of Dean in Time Square came to be know as symbols of the 1960s youth movement. Here are a selection of other equaly, if not more, powerful photographs taken by the icon, Dennis Stock.
