The long-stalled legislation now heads to President Donald Trump’s desk. Its passage comes a year after the #MeToo movement rocked Capitol Hill, leading to high-profile resignations. The legislation stipulates that members of Congress are held personally liable for settlements reached for alleged harassment. In the end, lawmakers agreed to drop discrimination from that category, as initially outlined in the House bill.
