New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday ordered state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to investigate Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance’s handling of probes into disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein. The decision comes the same day that Time’s Up wrote to the governor to request an investigation into Vance’s decision not to prosecute a sexual abuse case against Weinstein in 2015 involving former Miss Italy contestant Ambra Battilana. “It is of great concern that sexual assault cases have not been pursued with full vigor by our criminal justice system,” Cuomo said in ordering the investigation into Vance.
