The Dalai Lama has suggested that Osama bin Laden’s death was justified. The leader of Tibetan Buddhism says that he believes in compassion to such an extent that he tries not to kill mosquitoes. But during an appearance at USC, the Dalai Lama said that while bin Laden may have deserved forgiveness, but, "Forgiveness doesn't mean forget what happened… If something is serious and it is necessary to take countermeasures, you have to take countermeasures." This is the Dalai Lama’s first visit to the U.S. since stepping aside as the day-to-day political leader of the Tibetan government in exile.
