Delta Air Lines shared a tribute to Jimmy Carter after the former president’s death on Sunday at the age of 100. “Today we celebrate his life - a great friend, family man, Nobel Peace Prize winner and leader who showed us all how to properly treat those around us,” Delta wrote on X. The airline shared a video of Carter shaking hands and greeting passengers on a Delta flight. “Every time Jimmy Carter flew Delta, he shook hands with each person on the plane. Because that’s who he was. Someone who treated people as people,” the caption read. “Rest in peace, Mr. President. Your legacy lives on.” The video was originally shared by a passenger in 2017. “It’s hard to put into words what a nice reprieve from the current political theater this moment was,” James Parker Sheffield, who filmed the video, told a local outlet at the time. “His enthusiasm was authentic and humble, in a way that made things feel less heavy for a moment.”
