It’s one of the turf wars of air travel—the seat recline. One passenger suddenly leans back, crowding the traveler in the seat behind them. Now, Delta is hoping to reduce some of that tension by cutting the amount of the recline on some domestic flights by two inches, according to travel website ThePointsGuy.com. The airline plans to start by retrofitting A320s, a process that will take two months. “I’m sure it will reduce some friction between passengers,” airline consultant Robert Mann told the site. “Every one of those incidents creates at least one irate customer and one who wonders what all the fuss is about.” Delta said passenger feedback will determine if it expands the test to the rest of the fleet.
