Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday morning, a department spokesperson said. His diagnosis came from a “routine pre-travel” test as he prepared to go to Colombia with Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He will continue to work from home, the spokesperson said in a statement, as he “is experiencing only mild congestion.” Mayorkas is fully vaccinated, and contact tracing is underway.
