Devastating Australian Floods Sweep Crocodiles and Snakes Onto Streets
HELL ON EARTH
Live crocodiles and snakes have washed up on Australian streets in devastating floods that have left 20,000 homes at risk. A year’s worth of rain has fallen on city of Townsville in Queensland over the past week, with more huge downpours forecast for Monday and Tuesday. “It’s basically not just a one-in-20-year event; it’s a one-in-100-year event,” state Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Saturday. Dangerous animals have been spotted swimming in the water—a huge crocodile was photographed in a driveway. Erin Hahn wrote: “Croc out the front of my dads place in Mundingburra, O’Reilly street, Ross River Road end. Cannot stress it enough to stay out of the water.” Entire suburbs of Townsville are completely submerged.
