Trump Finally Weighs In on Kimberly Guilfoyle’s Money Scandal

The ambassador to Greece has been the subject of several controversies.

President Donald Trump is not pleased with Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle’s reported behavior.

Trump, 80, was asked at the White House on Monday whether he was considering firing Guilfoyle.

“Well, we’re looking at it,” he admitted. “Yeah, we’re not happy.”

Guilfoyle, 57, allegedly asked MAGA donor Eric Deters to pay off her $100,000 American Express bill in exchange for access to Trumpworld figures, The Wall Street Journal reported last week.

Guilfoyle, the ex-fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., also faces a State Department inspector general probe into allegations involving improper gifts, private travel, and other conduct, the Daily Mail reported.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported that Trump was “looking to replace” Guilfoyle, and that senior administration officials were “p---ed off.”

“If she survives this, she’s officially beaten ‘Trump World’ in legendary mode, defeated the final boss and unlocked an achievement no previous player thought was possible,” a source told the New York Post.

The Associated Press also reported that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have weighed firing Guilfoyle.

The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Beast.

A U.S. Embassy spokesperson responded to last week’s Journal report by saying that “Guilfoyle’s career in and out of public service is guided by deep and abiding values.”

“The bipartisan Senate Foreign Relations Committee fully vetted her, and the U.S. Senate confirmed her. The Ambassador remains committed to representing the American people with dedication and integrity,” the spokesperson added.

But the allegations, which some say amount to a possible pay-for-play scheme, have caused Democrats on the House Oversight Committee to ask Guilfoyle for documents.

“This alleged misconduct raises serious public corruption and national security concerns,” California Rep. Robert Garcia wrote to the ambassador in a letter. “If Trump Administration officials can be bought by donors, the American people suffer the consequences of corrupt leaders more concerned with their own enrichment than the public good and vulnerable to blackmail by foreign intelligence services.”

Deters has said in interviews that Guilfoyle’s $100,000 request “absolutely was a quid pro quo.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Trump made his comments on Guilfoyle before heading to a midterm campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio, to support Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, both of whom face stiff competition.
