Doug Emhoff offered a rare assessment of how he was impersonated in his debut spot on Saturday Night Live, telling The Jennifer Hudson Show he actually approved of it. Emhoff, 59, praised actor Andy Samberg, famous for his starring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, for doing a “good job” as he played the part of the second gentleman opposite Maya Rudolph, the show’s long-running choice to be Kamala Harris in skits. Emhoff, 59, said he’s been a fan of SNL his “whole life” and that he especially liked when Samberg, who’s also Jewish, referred to him as “second gentlemensch” in the skit—calling on the Yiddish word “mensch,” which means an upstanding guy. Emhoff added that it was “surreal” to be included in the show’s Season 50 premiere after decades as a fan.
