Elon Musk apparently got a kick out of a CNN segment about one of his young DOGE whiz kids, known online as “Big Balls.”
Erin Burnett Outfront invited Wired global editorial director Katie Drummond on the show Thursday evening to discuss the publication’s work on identifying the billionaire’s young Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) goon squad. The pair focused on Edward Coristine, who has gone by an unusual moniker online. The Wired journalist awkwardly opened the segment by telling Burnett that the 19-year-old high school graduate has used the “unfortunate” nickname “Big Balls.”
Drummond added that her team did a deep dive on Coristine’s background and found that his “unfortunate” naming tendencies did not stop at claiming his testicles are large. “We found several notable things, Erin. One of which is that this individual has founded multiple companies, including one with another unfortunate name, uh, ‘Tesla.Sexy LLC,’ which he established in 2021. He would have been around 16 years old,” Drummond said.

Musk, 54, took to X to share his childish glee over the fact that CNN would report on such silly names. “This was actually on TV,” he wrote in one post, with three laughing emojis and a photograph of the show on TV.
The electronic caption at the bottom of the screen reads “DOGE teen, known online as ‘Big Balls,’ now a govt ‘expert.’” Musk later called it the “best chyron ever.”
And, sharing a post of an AI-generated woman holding a sign saying “NO ONE ELECTED BIG BALLS,” he wrote: “Personally, I voted for Big Balls.”
Not stopping there, he also shared a gif of a scene from the animated comedy South Park in which a character called Randy has such large testicles that he has to carry them around in a wheelbarrow. “Can’t believe they doxxed another DOGE team member,” he quipped.
In a similar vein, Musk shared another post of yet more penis- and testicle-themed names like Monty Python’s “Biggus Dickus” and wrote: “Oh no, I can’t believe they doxxed DOGE,” he said.
Journalist Kara Swisher, a former friend of Musk who previously said he was “losing his mind,” was also on the CNN panel. “That‘s probably why he was hired for all this ridiculous nonsense and other nefarious things,” she said, referring to “Big Balls” and his alleged rap sheet.
Wired unearthed some links to Russia at Coristine’s Tesla.Sexy LLC. Drummond explained on the CNN show that the company controls a heap of web domains, some of which are registered in Russia. She added that “he also worked at a network monitoring firm that is known for hiring reformed black hat hackers, essentially criminals.”
