A former Adidas executive, an Adidas consultant, and an aspiring sports agent were found guilty of fraud charges Wednesday in a college basketball corruption trial, CBS Sports reports. James Gatto, Adidas’ former head of global sports marketing, former Adidas consultant Merl Code, and aspiring sports agent Christian Dawkins were all found guilty of defrauding universities by participating in a scheme to pay high-school athletes bribes so they would attend Adidas-sponsored universities, including University of Louisville and University of Kansas. Under the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s rules, student athletes aren’t allowed to be paid. The verdict comes after a two-year FBI investigation.
