Ex-New York Giants football star Lawrence Taylor spent several hours in a Florida jail for once again violating the conditions of his standing as a convicted registered sex offender. Taylor turned himself in on an outstanding felony warrant Wednesday night, and Broward County released him around 3 a.m. on Thursday. The Pro Football Hall of Famer is required to notify law enforcement of any residence or name changes following his conviction for having intimate relations with a 16-year-old girl back in 2011, who Taylor maintains told him she was 19. This is the second time in recent years that he’s been sent to the slammer for failing to follow the conditions of his conviction, which his attorney explained away as a “misunderstanding.” In 2021, Taylor spent time at a hotel near his home because he needed space during a marital spat. He claimed he did not know the hotel stay qualified as a change of address.
