Ex-NFL Player Jerrell Powe Charged With Kidnapping

Police say he and an accomplice forced a man to withdraw money from a bank.

Jerrell Powe, who played football for Ole Miss and then in the NFL, has been arrested on kidnapping charges. Police told WLBT that Powe, 35, and an accomplice took the victim from Laurel, Mississippi, to Ridgeland, Mississippi, and forced him to withdraw cash from a bank. Somehow, the man managed to call police, who arrested Powe and the other suspect. Powe played for Ole Miss from 2007 to 2010, was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs and also played for Houston and Washington.
