Facebook and Twitter haven’t detected any Chinese meddling in the 2018 elections, Bloomberg reports, despite claims from Donald Trump that the country is actively attempting to interfere. The social media giants have reported online disinformation that appears to come from Russia and Iran, but anonymous sources from Facebook and Twitter said they haven’t found any evidence so far of malign activity from China. Last week, cybersecurity firms FireEye, Symantec, and Crowdstrike also said they haven’t seen any evidence of digital interference by China. Trump's claims about Chinese interference have stepped up over the past month. The president told the United Nations Security Council that “China has been attempting to interfere in our upcoming 2018 election, coming up in November, against my administration.”
