The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested Robert Paul Rundo, the leader of a violent neo-Nazi gang, after he reportedly fled to Central America last month, according to an unsealed criminal complaint cited Wednesday by The New York Times. Rundo, who is the founder of the Rise Above Movement, was charged with federal conspiracy for allegedly engaging “in a series of violent attacks at political rallies in 2017.” Although he fled to Mexico two weeks ago, according to sources cited by the Times, he was captured Monday and brought back to the United States. Rundo is now being held in federal jail in Los Angeles. Two other members of the group—25-year-old Robert Boman and 22-year-old Tyler Laube—were arrested Wednesday morning for also traveling to rallies where they “violently attacked counter-protesters, journalists and a police officer,” federal prosecutors alleged. The feds are still seeking a fourth man who was also involved in the violence, according to authorities. Earlier this month, four members of the Rise Above Movement were indicted on conspiracy to riot charges after they allegedly violently attacked counter-protesters during Charlottesville’s Unite the Right rally.
