Five Suspects, Age 12 to 16, Arrested in Slaying of Nashville Musician Kyle Yorlets
Five Nashville youths, one of them just 12 years old, were arrested Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a local musician. Kyle Yorlets, 24, was ambushed outside his home Thursday afternoon by a gang in a stolen pickup truck, police said. They demanded his wallet and then shot him when he refused to turn over the keys to his vehicle, authorities said. “He made it back inside, where he was found by one of his housemates at 3 p.m.,” Nashville police said in a statement. A tip led cops to the suspects at a Walmart in West Nashville. Police said they include a 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy and three others ages 14, 15 and 16. Yorlets, who was originally from Pennsylvania, attended Belmont University in Tennessee and was in a local band called Carverton.
