Malaysia is open to resuming the search for for Flight 370, which vanished some five years ago while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, according to The Associated Press. The country’s transport minister, Anthony Loke, reportedly said Sunday that he “welcomes credible leads and also concrete proposals to resume the search” for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which was carrying 239 people. Loke said he was “waiting for specific proposals, in particular from Ocean Infinity,” the company that had searched the Indian Ocean from January 2018 to May 2018 without learning more about a potential crash site. Ocean Infinity’s CEO, Oliver Plunkett, reportedly said that his company wants to resume search efforts. Plunkett claimed that Ocean Infinity now had better technology after it successfully found a lost Argentine submarine one year after its disappearance, per the AP.
