Fox & Friends meteorologist Janice Dean wrote in her new book that she secretly convinced women who had allegedly been sexually harassed by Roger Ailes, the former Fox chairman and CEO, to talk to hired investigators. Dean also recounted her own alleged harassment by Ailes in her book, Mostly Sunny, including one encounter in which she said Ailes asked her, “So, how are you at phone sex?” After Dean said she replied, “I’M TERRIBLE!” Ailes allegedly continued. “You don’t seem like you’d be terrible. You’re a little naughty. I see that side of you. You’ve played phone sex with your boyfriends before, right? Let me hear what you say to him…like as if I was your boyfriend,” she quoted him as saying. Dean went on to write that she reached out to female coworkers who she “knew had a Roger story,” adding that some spoke out “at great risk and peril to their careers and livelihoods.” Ailes, who died in May 2017 at age 77, left the network after former Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson sued him for sexual harassment. Carlson settled the lawsuit with 21st Century Fox for $20 million, which led to Ailes’ departure.
