President Donald Trump’s first few days back in office have underscored how different he is from his predecessor in interacting with the press. Unlike former President Joe Biden, who spoke with the press under only “the most structured of circumstances,” Trump is more unpredictable and theatrical, reports The New York Times. Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy commented on the change back to a Trumpian news cycle, calling him “the TV producer president.” He remarked on the way Trump turned something as simple as opening Biden’s letter to him into an event of “maximum suspense” with “a dramatic reveal.” “Open the drawer, don’t take it out right away, have people asking what’s in there, gasping. I could not see the previous president wanting to do anything unknown on live television, and I definitely don’t think his aides would have ever let him.”
