A French company is suspected of paying almost 13 million euros (about $15 million) to ISIS after the terrorist group captured a part of Syria where the company had a cement plant. Lafarge is now under investigation for financing terrorism and “complicity in crimes against humanity,” authorities said. A court official told the Associated Press that Lafarge may have violated an embargo. Lafarge has admitted to giving money to armed groups in Syria to help employees move safely through the country. Three officials were charged last year in connection with ISIS payments.
