Former General Hospital star Johnny Wactor was shielding one of his co-workers when he was fatally shot in the middle of the night on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail. The outlet reported that the actor exited his side gig as a bartender with a female co-worker after 3 a.m. on Saturday night when he stumbled upon a group of masked men huddled close to his car. “He came across them and he thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys, like, ‘Hey, are you towing?’” Wactor’s younger brother Grant told the Mail. In reality, the men were attempting to steal his catalytic converter, a valuable and frequently pilfered device used to regulate emissions. “And then once he turned around, he saw what was happening and he put his co-worker behind him. And that’s when they shot him,” Grant Wactor said, adding that his brother was simply trying to back away.
