An 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman were stabbed in London’s Leicester Square on Monday, local police said. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident in the busy square—a popular location with tourists visiting the capital’s West End theater district. “We don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects,” a Scotland Yard spokesperson said. “The 11-year-old girl will require hospital treatment but her injuries are not life threatening. The second victim suffered more minor injuries,” the Metropolitan Police said in an update. “At this stage, there is no suggestion that the incident is terror-related.” News of the stabbing comes two weeks after three children were killed and others were injured in a knife attack in northwest England, sparking violent riots across Britain as false information about the identity of the alleged perpetrator circulated online. No information has yet been released about the identity of man detained in connection with the Leicester Square incident.
