A bipartisan group of House representatives on Thursday reportedly reached a deal to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws—although the details still remained unclear. The deal comes after a group of senators filed their own version of the immigration bill last month. The House group said their bill would be ready for June hearings. A deal would be a major victory for Obama in the middle of an absolutely miserable week for the White House, since the president has long stated his commitment to immigration reform. But none of the House reps would discuss their bill, just saying that there will be “a lot of differences” from the Senate version. Oh goody, more things to disagree about.
