Richard Gere called President Donald Trump a “thug” and a “bully” while decrying the state of America while accepting an award at Spain’s Goya Awards Saturday night. “We are in a very dark place in America where we have a bully and a thug who is the president of the United States,” said the actor, who received a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony. “This very foolish tribalism is starting to take over, where we think we’re all separate from each other,” he added. “We have, unfortunately, elected officials that don’t inspire us in the way we want to be inspired.” At a pre-show press conference, Gere stressed that the time had come “for people to stand up.” “The millionaire clowns surrounding Trump are immature and narcissistic—a deadly mix,” he continued. “It is irresponsible and corrosive that there are millionaires in charge of the United States; [it’s] a danger to the whole planet.” The American actor recently moved to Spain with his wife, Alejandra Silva.

President Donald Trump kicked off his sporty Sunday by hitting the links with a 15-time golf champion. According to the White House pool report, the president— who is also expected to attend the Super Bowl LIX this weekend—met up with Tiger Woods in West Palm Beach, Florida. The two have a relationship that predates the real estate mogul’s entry into politics. In 2019, Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He also offered the gold legend public condolences earlier this week when his mother, Kutilda Woods, died at 78. “I was just informed that Tiger Woods’ wonderful Mother, Kultida, passed away — She has gone onto greener fairways!” Trump wrote on Tuesday on TruthSocial. “Kultida Woods was an amazing influence on Tiger, and gave him much of his strength and brilliance. Melania and I send our love and prayers to Tiger and his incredible family!” After they were done teeing it up at Trump’s golf course, the president took off to New Orleans, where the football championship is being held this year. Meanwhile, Woods is gearing up for the Genesis Invitational this week in San Diego, which will be his first PGA Tour event.

Ask any professional athlete or wellness obsessive, and they’ll tell you that post-workout recovery is as important as the workout itself. You don’t need to dodge blitzes or dribble past defenders to enhance your wellness routine—a cold plunge followed by time in a Galanter & Jones heated chair is all you need for all-star restoration.

Galanter & Jones is a design studio that specializes in heated outdoor furniture, allowing you to enjoy year-round comfort no matter the temperature. The brand’s heated chairs are the perfect complement after a cold plunge. Here’s how it works: First, you immerse yourself in cold water, a method that may reduce inflammation and enhance circulation, which in turn alleviates muscle soreness and promotes quicker physical recovery.

Once the shock of the cold water wears off, you transition to the comfort of a heated chair, which soothes your body, improves circulation, and eases any muscles that are still tight. In addition to the physical benefits, the warmth can also curb any mental stress by lulling you into a sense of relaxation. (They call it heat therapy for a reason!)

Aside from being the perfect cold plunge companion, there are plenty of other reasons to fall in love with a Galanter & Jones chair. With built-in rust resistance and drainage features, this durable furniture is designed to weather the elements in all four seasons—ideal for these frigid winter months. Plus, the brand has a variety of shapes, styles, and colors to choose from, so you don’t have to sacrifice form for function. Shop our favorite styles below.

Meghan Markle Maybe Saying ‘Oh F***’ After Her Wedding Goes Viral

Did Meghan Markle swear on her wedding day? Newly unearthed footage shared on social media and published by the Daily Mail Sunday seems to suggest that after the ceremony, as Meghan and Prince Harry were pulled through Windsor in a horse-drawn Landau carriage, Meghan turned to her new husband and laughingly gasped: “Oh f***!” The moment came when the bride was moving away from crowds outside of Windsor Castle, so although spectators wouldn’t have seen it, it was captured by cameras. To be fair, the couple had just made their way past an estimated crowd of 150,000 cheering well-wishers, so dropping an F-bomb might not be entirely unexpected.

With the release of his death certificate on Friday, we now know David Lynch’s official cause of death, TMZ reports. The Eraserhead filmmaker’s immediate cause of death was cardiac arrest, with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) listed as an underlying condition. His death certificate also lists dehydration as a contributing factor. The director, a lifelong smoker, had previously been diagnosed with emphysema. In November he revealed that he couldn’t walk without oxygen and could barely leave his home. He died at his daughter’s home, where he had been staying during the horrific wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles last month. He died five days before his 79th birthday. Lynch’s death prompted an outpouring of goodwill and love from longtime collaborators like Kyle MacLachlan and Laura Dern, fellow directors like Steven Soderbergh, and fans, many of whom traveled to one of Lynch’s favorite haunts, Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank—where the Oscar nominee regularly enjoyed a damn fine cup of coffee—to pay their respects.

Officials from the Alaska Department of Public Safety announced on Saturday that all 10 people—nine passengers and the pilot—onboard the small passenger plane that went missing and was later found to have crashed in Alaska on Feb. 7 have been confirmed dead. The plane had been traveling from Unalakleet to Nome on Thursday when it went missing. The crash site was found by officials 34 miles southeast of Nome on Friday. Alaska State Troopers have positively identified all 10 victims, and their remains have been recovered and transported to Nome. All of the victims were residents of Alaska, including 34-year-old pilot Chad Antill, who lived in Nome. The passengers ranged in age from 30 to 58 years old. Radar analysis showed that 40 minutes after takeoff, the aircraft “experienced some kind of event which caused them to experience a rapid loss in elevation and a rapid loss in speed,” according to a statement given by Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Benjamin McIntyre-Coble at a news briefing on Friday.

Elon Musk’s mother returned to the catwalk this week at New York Fashion Week, closing the Juzui show in a dark silver dress and white fur jacket. This is the Musk matriarch’s third time walking for Juzui, and she took to her eldest son’s website to thank designer Taoray Wang for inviting her to close and lead the show’s finale once again, describing it as, “great fun, as always.” Juzui described Musk as a “true embodiment of timeless elegance” who ”[underscores] the strength and enduring beauty" that defines the brand. Musk is primarily known for being her son’s mother and defending him on X, which has led to her being accused of racism and encouraging voter fraud in the past. She is indeed a professional model, however, and has appeared on the cover of TIME (which just featured her son on the cover—and does still exist) and Woman’s Day, as well as international editions of Vogue and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

CNN Confuses Obama With Osama Bin Laden in Embarrassing On-Air Gaffe
OOPS!

Someone at CNN is undoubtedly having a bad weekend after a graphic describing alleged terrorist Abu Zubaydah as an associate of one “Obama Bin Laden” was broadcast during CNN News Central on Friday. While host Boris Sanchez avoided making the same mistake himself, the graphic did appear on the screen behind him as he discussed President Donald Trump’s plan to send migrants to Guantanamo Bay, where Zubaydah—an alleged former associate of Osama bin Laden—is still being held. The gaffe carries with it negative associations leftover from the Obama presidency, when conspiracy theorists routinely attempted to use the then-president’s name to draw a link between him and radical Islam. Meanwhile, the first flight transporting what Trump’s Department of Defense described as “high-threat illegal aliens” arrived at Guantanamo Bay on Feb. 5. Onboard were 10 individuals accused of belonging to Tren de Aragua, a transnational criminal organization from Venezuela.

Denzel Washington Expresses Gratitude in Face of Oscars Snub

On Saturday, acclaimed actor Denzel Washington, 70, told The New York Times he was taking it in stride after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declined to nominate him for an Oscar in Gladiator II. I was sitting there smiling, going: Look at you. On the day you didn’t get a nomination for an Oscar, you’re working on ‘Othello’ on Broadway," he told the outlet. He continued, mimicking those who would be dismayed at being overlooked: “Are you kidding me? Awww. Oh, I’m so upset. Listen, I’ve been around too long. I’m getting wiser, working on talking less and learning to understand more — and that’s exciting.” Washington credits his mother with teaching him lessons about humility. While The Equalizer star was not nominated for an Oscar, Gladiator II was nominated for the 2024 Academy Award’s Best Achievement in Costume Design. The Times placed Washington at the top of its list of the greatest actors of the 21st century in 2020.

Several high-ranking members of the Proud Boys have big plans now that President Donald Trump has freed them from lengthy prison sentences. Four of the far-right extremist group’s leaders were due to serve between 15 and 22 years for their roles in the Jan. 6 insurrection until the president blanket-pardoned all involved. Enrique Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Joe Biggs, and Zachary Rehl shared their plans for the future in interviews with USA Today. At least two—Tarrio and Rehl—hope to pursue political careers, as Trump’s ascendance in his second term has brought their once-fringe beliefs to the political mainstream. Nordean, meanwhile, wants to build an organization that will help young men “reclaim” their American masculinity. “Basically anything that isn’t in agreement with far-leftist ideology is considered fascist,” he said. “It demonizes the nuclear family; it demonizes Christian men.” He hopes to give disillusioned men “a sense of purpose.” As for Biggs, he said his time in prison made him want to reform the justice system, although he’s not yet sure exactly how he’ll do that. “The system is a monster, and you can’t just beat a monster overnight,” he said. However, he floated the idea of teaming up with Kim Kardashian. “Let’s get people who have pull, together, and let’s have some hearings,” Biggs said.

An investigation by Britain’s ITV network uncovered “dozens” of misconduct allegations against TV star Gino D’Acampo dating back over 12 years, The Guardian reported. Several women alleged the Italian chef—who gained notoriety after winning I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in 2009 and regularly hosts cooking segments on ITV’s This Morning—made sexual comments while working on productions, describing D’Acampo’s behavior was described as “unacceptable” and “distressing.” At least one woman alleges that she saw D’Acampo threaten a young colleague in 2019. Amid the investigation, ITV said reruns of D’Acampo’s shows—including Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip; Gino’s Italian Express; and Gino’s Italy: Like Mamma Used to Make—and appearances have been pulled. In a statement, D’Acampo “firmly denied” the allegations and said the claims about his behavior were “simply not in my nature.” He added, “Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before; I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programs during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.”
