What’s with the ladies ditching Mitt? A new USA Today/Gallup poll found that Mitt Romney has lost considerable support among independent women in recent months. Polls conducted between October and December 2011 found Romney leading Obama by 5 percent in votes from this group, but recently the tables have turned. Data recovered from February and March found the president with 51 percent of independent women’s votes in comparison to Romney’s 37 percent. Oddly enough, Romney’s stance on contraception didn’t seem to sway voters one way or the other—8 out of 10 independent women polled were unaware of his views.
