Iron Man 2 isn’t in theaters yet—but it’s already selling out. The action movie, starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Gwyneth Paltrow, opens Thursday at midnight—and according to Fandago.com, many of the midnight shows are already sold out nationwide. The movie, which opened last weekend overseas, earned a whopping $121 million, and some are predicting this weekend’s domestic box office to be upward of $140 million. The first Iron Man grossed $318.4 million domestically—and it looks like the followup will easily perform better. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iron Man 2 could set a box-office record for its opening weekend if it tops The Dark Knight’s $158.4 million opening in July 2008.
