Civil defense officials in Iraq report that ISIS has blown up the holy site thought to be the tomb of Jonah, the prophet who was swallowed by a whale in Islamic and Judeo-Christian traditions. Following through with threats to destroy any shrine deemed un-Islamic, militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria planted explosives around the tomb and detonated them remotely, officials in Mosul said. A YouTube video appears to show the explosion moments after it happened, with smoke and dust obscuring the screen.
