ISIS’s propaganda chief, Wa’il Adil Hasan Salman al-Fayad, was killed in a coalition airstrike this month, the Pentagon said on Friday. According to Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook, Wa’il was one of the terror group’s “most senior leaders” whose formal title was information minister. He was responsible for the gruesome videos showing beheadings and torture. “The removal of ISIL's senior leaders degrades its ability to retain territory, and its ability to plan, finance, and direct attacks inside and outside of the region,” Cook said. “We will continue to work with our coalition partners to build momentum in the campaign to deal ISIL a lasting defeat.”
