Israeli officials claimed responsibility Saturday for the airstrike that hit Syria early Friday morning, an attack they claim was aimed at a shipment of weapons from Iran. The incident marks the second time this year that Israel has targeted Iran's weapon shipments, both times targeting what they believe are shipments to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. The weapons, although "game-changing," were not the chemical weapons that concern U.S. officials. Iran and Hezbollah continue to back Syria' ruthless President Bashar al-Assad, as the death toll in the war-torn country tops 700,000.
