Jill Biden revealed to The New York Times reporter Katie Rogers what Joe told her following the debate. Rogers queried Jill at a Biden campaign fundraising event in the Hamptons on Friday. “You know, Jill, I don’t know what happened. I didn’t feel that great.” Biden reportedly told the first lady, according to an X post by Rogers. Jill responded, “Look, Joe, we are not going to let 90 minutes define the four years that you’ve been President.” Biden has not been cagey around acknowledging his poor performance on Thursday night. Biden told a crowd in North Carolina on Friday that he knows he’s “not a young man,” and went on to acknowledge other signs of his age, “I don’t walk as easy as I used to. I don’t walk as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to.” Biden added, “But I know what I do know—I know how to tell the truth, I know right from wrong, and I know how to do this job.”
