Joey Chestnut Wins 12th Title at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Joey Chestnut, reigning champion of Nathan’s annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, won his 12th title after downing 71 hot dogs on Thursday at Coney Island. Chestnut ate the hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, but failed to beat his record-breaking high of 74 hot dogs last year. In the women’s contest, Miki Sudo won her sixth title after eating 31 hot dogs earlier Thursday, but failed to beat the all-time record of 45 hot dogs.
