A man in Kansas has been arrested after being found hiding underneath a child’s bed by their babysitter.
According to a statement from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, the incident occurred on March 24, “just outside the city of Great Bend” at around 10:30 at night.
The babysitter told police that they were putting the children to bed when one of them complained about a “monster” hiding underneath theirs. In an attempt to comfort the child and show them that there was nothing underneath their bed, the babysitter instead “came face-to-face with a male suspect who was hiding there.”

Following an altercation that saw the babysitter and one child getting “knocked over,” the suspect was able to flee the scene before authorities arrived.
The next morning on March 25, the suspect was spotted by deputies in the area and despite trying to flee again, was swiftly captured and taken into custody.
He has since been identified as 27-year-old Marin Villalobos Junior, who according to police, used to live at the residence the babysitter was working at and had an “abuse order issued against him to stay away from the property.”
Villalobos was transported to Barton County Jail where he was booked on several charges including aggravated kidnapping, child endangerment, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, and violation of a protection from abuse order. According to authorities, he’s being held on a $500,000 bond.
