Kanye West has reportedly lost a $20 million deal to perform in Japan following his controversial stunt at the Grammys which saw his wife Bianca Censori appeared in a completely see through outfit. The artist, 47, faces two shows at the Tokyo Dome in May being cancelled. A source told the Daily Mail: “Kanye is just f***ing up every opportunity that comes to him. The stunt was creepy beyond belief and has been greeted with horror in Japan.” The country is currently undergoing a cultural shift around women’s rights, the source said, and would have viewed his actions as “an act of coercive control which is utterly unacceptable. He has completely culturally misjudged Japan.” The Mail notes that Kanye’s failure to anticipate the negative Japanese reaction is particularly surprising given he has been living in a hotel in Japan almost full-time for the past year. Another source said his cryptocurrency launch now seems to be his main focus.
