Jim Cramer urged President Donald Trump to be proactive about Europe’s plausible reciprocal tariffs against U.S. tech companies.
“I was very let down as someone who really, truly believes that free trade is awful for the American working person,” Cramer said on CNN.
CNBC’s “Mad Money” host figured out who the president reminds him of: “Eureka! I have found him!”

“The president should not ignore that scream, because that’s how you end up in a recession,” the “Mad Money” host warned.
“Honestly, no one knows because it’s never happened—I think President Trump likes [doing] things that have never happened,” Cramer ominously noted.
“You know I was being facetious when I used the term involving you,” he tried to clarify at the end of the interview.
Later on in the segment, Cramer noted that many of the plans he’s put forward will be adopted if he can “persuade them,” adding: “They’re debating right now.”
While the network’s wealthiest guests openly spar with the progressive candidate, both sides privately acknowledge that this war can be mutually beneficial.
