Maine Man Arrested for Threatening YouTube HQ After His Channel Was Banned

A Maine man who was angry at Google for taking down his YouTube channel was found driving to the tech giant’s headquarters with three baseball bats in his car, the New York Post reports. According to a Facebook post from the Mountain View Police Department, Kyle Long was arrested Sunday afternoon while approaching Google’s headquarters after exhibiting “bizarre behavior” in the presence of Iowa State police officers. On his way to California, the 33-year-old spoke to Iowa officers, telling them he was going “to meet with Google after his YouTube channel had been shut down, which he claimed was resulting in him losing money.” “Iowa State Patrol had spoken with Long twice that day, once after his vehicle was involved in a non-injury collision and a second time after he vandalized a restroom at a gas station store a short time later,” Mountain View police said.

Maine’s Waterville Police Department also reportedly contacted Mountain View officials on Sunday, saying that Long said he would resort to “physical violence” if his meeting with Google did not go well. Mountain View police then found the baseball bats and GPS directions to Google’s headquarters in Long’s vehicle. He was reportedly arrested for “making criminal threats” and is being held on $25,000 bail in Santa Clara County Jail.
